The South Staffordshire and Shropshire Healthcare Trust provides mental health, learning disability and specialist children’s services in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Powys as well as some services on a wider regional or national basis.
2,200 extinguishers over 107 sites
The nature of the contract means that extinguishers are spread across a wide area. In addition, access is often challenging and the working environment is highly sensitive. Without an asset register, or a dedicated service engineer, this had become difficult for the Trust to manage.
To provide us with greater accountability, Firemark created a digital asset register and provided a dedicated engineer with a PDA handset that had access to every record. This simplified record-keeping and increased efficiency. A single point of contact also guaranteed greater consistency and an accurate picture of our extensive fire safety network. We now have a ‘standard’ to work to.
